in Paris …
tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.
devil inviting me to sin,
dance in the bright moonlight.
me, my body sang–
to another man,
want to let me go.

“There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.”
This is certified kindle crack! It was unputdownable (yep, totally made that up!). I couldn’t put it down. I sat in one spot and read it from cover to cover. I was immediately drawn in to the story and it held me tight until the very end!
I apologize, but I’m going to skip the summary for this one. I went in blind and think you should too. Feel free to read the blurb above if you must, but I didn’t and I still loved it.
However, I will tell you what I loved: I’m going to be 100% honest with you guys. The cover made me do it! LOL I’m not usually one to read a new to me based solely off a sexy, but I totally did this time. And yes, you read that right, Mia Asher was new to me before this book. I’ve totally been missing out if all her books are this good!
Next up, the raw emotion and intensity of the story is breath-taking. I sat on the edge of my chair with one hand over my heart panting like a crazy person while reading most of this book. It’s all the feels; all the emotions you can muster! This book owned me! The feels, the drama, the unexpected little twists and turns…Gah, it was so addictive!
And last, but certainly not least, the characters – with the infinite riches aside, these are some of the realest characters I’ve read. Their circumstances and situations are completely relatable. It made the story that much more poignant. Both Sebastien and Valentina have shortcomings, but I didn’t care. Their story is pure romance, regardless of the circumstance. It’s raw and visceral. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and all consuming.
“Darkness is around me until I see you. Then it’s colors Bright, bright colors I can’t describe”
Overall, a very moving read. I won’t soon forget these characters or this author’s writing. I’m looking forward to reading her again soon.
I’m a writer, a hopeless romantic, a wanderer, a dreamer, a cynic, and a believer. And, I might be a bit crazy – but who isn’t?I believe in happy endings however I know that not everyone is lucky enough to get one, but such is life. I think fine lines exist to be pushed and possibly crossed.
